Owl Tree Whimsy focuses on creative culinary and literary endeavours. Chelsea's original writing includes poetry, reflections, and short fiction. She writes to process her world and invite others into the lives of the characters she has encountered. Whether it is the tale of a flying squirrel discovering his abilities or the mysterious journey of Serial Boxes, there is always something to explore.
Owl Tree Whimsy's title acknowledges Chelsea and Kevin's unity in life while allowing their unique personalities to shine. Owls are (usually cute) night creatures who symbolize wisdom and depth. Trees make ideal homes for the climbing and forts of childhood summers. Trees can also be tall (much like Kevin). Whimsy is what life is: chaos made more elegant and incredible by its fleeting nature.
Chelsea and Kevin first met during a visit to Winnipeg for a mutual connection's wedding. They lived over 5,470 kilometres apart for the next year, until they were able to live together "North of Sixty" in Yellowknife. They married, weathered Chelsea's immigration process, and paid off student loans. Many special memories were also created with friends, family, and one another. They have since moved to Winnipeg, where their journey together continues.
