3/5/2015

along this path,
just past the gnarled stump
where a wall of ferns
gives way to a small clearing,
I swear,
standing to the right of the tallest pine,
you can see the moon better
than anywhere else in the world.

the blue-white stars
form their parallelogram,
as dolphins swim
beneath flying arrows.

they shine bright above you and I,
tucked away in our sweaters
to keep at bay the chill
of the darkened forest.

in time,
the sky will share its secrets with us;

in the quietest hour of starlit night
a whisper will float down
into any ears in the clearing,

so listen with me,
before I, like the Triangle,
move west.
