part 3 of the reclaiming me series written on November 21, 2018, updated in July 2019 naming darkness finding light is just over three years old and owl tree whimsy (previously iridescent lizard) is over six years old. in preparing to write this second and final “reclaiming my body” post, I read through related reflections and creative pieces I have written on here... I have urged people to live like they are really alive - to live with tenacity. I’ve discussed the complex process of opening up and reaching out - the struggle to speak about safety plans, feelings, self-harm, sexual assault, and suicide. I’ve discussed the challenges of finding and being part of a support system, and of creating healthy leadership systems. everyone’s journey of healing, of supporting a struggling loved one, of living, is an ongoing and evolving process - no two are the same, but there are many ways we can connect with and learn from one another; mental health is a bigger story than any one of us. so, as this reclaiming series moves into the next chapter, I leave you with this: as you watch the snowflakes glide to earth as they cover the trees and ground like in a snow globe let this be a reminder of renewal as you walk across a snowy field, look for your footprints take in your impact on the world as you sip warm tea as you nestle into a safe corner let comfort sit across from or beside you as your body grows tired take time to prepare a cozy place for sleep as you fade to sleep as you wake let yourself be forgiven, let yourself be peaceful, let yourself be loved. - Chelsea - {connect well. thrive. love.} reclaiming me series{ original pieces by Chelsea } Comments are closed.
