story girl

3/24/2014

she bounced across the pillowed elastic surface where another door waited
upon opening - the door revealed itself to a wide, ambling sort of room, periodicals piled to the ceiling - or at least where there would exist a ceiling - but nearly to the stars etched above

she gathered up a few of the notes in her basket, then left the room

back bouncing through the hallway she went to another door, through it, up a ladder and down a spiral slide. the slide deposited her on a feathery soft unending cloud - white without blinding her, fluffy without sinking - she hop-walked her way across, to another door. this door opened to the right, hand pull on the left - a gust of wind emitted itself when she pulled it open

she stepped inside, onto the watery surface below, as air mingled with the chilled temperature and was almost frozen - she walked across sturdily nevertheless, used to the uneven shiny surface.

here in this room she gathered bulbs of light, spherical glass enclosures embodying luminescence - others hope, some rose petals, then left the room once more.
she cartwheeled, basket in hand, across the feathery cloud until she reached the edge.

here she closed her eyes, just at the edge of a solid white expanse.

as she stood there, the basket items - the notes, spheres and objects gathered earlier, flew into the white expanse, then disappeared - returning to their original rooms.
and in their emptiness grew a door.

the wind the door creation formed, blew across her face, and she opened her eyes.

there in front of her and her now empty basket, stood a newly formed entrance.
she grabbed the handle of the doors - two heavy oaken structures - and opened them with barely an effort.

she stepped into the expanse and there were the spheres, notes and other objects.

she sat as the doors swung closed, on the small space in the floor. she soaked in the room as she closed her eyes, and in the air, the words formed. her inspiration gathering breath from the surrounding substances, new stories penned from the most recent collection of thoughts, memories, sights and conversations.

there she began page two.
