small batch notcorn

remember the days when family movie nights included the communal popcorn bowl,
divvied up with a stack of all the small mismatched bowls you could find?

imagine you discover corn is not your friend in any way, shape, or form,
and that movie nights will never have popcorn again. ever!

​but then one day, after years of popcorn-free movie nights,
you happen to discover a way to make your own notcorn,
and you put it in a small mismatched bowl of your very own! ...

ingredients original recipe:

• 4 rice cakes (we use Quaker Crispy Minis, Original flavour, which have only ingredient: whole grain brown rice)
• your choice of spices (we use a pinch each of coriander, paprika and garam masala)
• sea salt (we use a kosher salt that is just sea salt, no fillers)
• 100% extra virgin olive oil

alternative method:

• use 100% puffed wheat
  
• then add oil and seasonings of your choice
• enjoy!

process:

• chop the rice cakes
• mix spices in a bowl
• ​heat pan on stove top, medium heat
• add olive oil to pan, turn heat to medium-low
• add chopped rice cakes to pan
• add spices and drizzle with olive oil
• mix everything well to evenly distribute the spices and olive oil
• remove pan from heat
• serve in small mismatched bowls of your choosing!
