What does "warmth" mean to you?
To me, "warmth" means feeling safe and loved. Feeling safe involves trust and security. Feeling loved involves respect and honesty. These combine to provide an environment where I know I can establish roots and grow. Because, as one grows they will eventually bloom. And the best setting in which to blossom is a warm, safe, and loving place where one can be and share their full self.
How has feeling rooted helped you in recent years?
Feeling rooted has helped me have a sense of focus and direction. I know where to direct my heart and mind. This in turn helps me feel more peaceful. When a place provides me with a sense of warmth, I know it is safe to become part of that community; I know it is safe to bloom there.
How have healthy communities helped shape your life in Canada?
Healthy communities continue to add richness to my life in Canada. My first community here, largely centred around my university, helped provide me with a solid foundation of support, knowledge, and experiences. I learned a lot about Canada and the world, gaining tools for life. My communities since university have been composed of friends, confidants, and family. Each community has helped strengthen my sense of belonging.
